Finding real estate in the Chicago area isn't always easy, and very few people want to live within the city itself. Lake Bluff, IL, a village just north of Chicago, offers smaller town charm while still being close to the amenities of the larger city. Lake Bluff, unlike the huge and impersonal suburbs surrounding Chicago, has a population of only about 6,000.
Lake Bluff schools are very small, but give students an excellent educational experience. Lower grades are sent to Lake Bluff Elementary and Lake Bluff Middle School, and high school students go to Lake Forest High School, which has consistently turned out higher than average state and national test scores. In addition, a private school, Forest Bluff School, is afforded as an option for students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. This school is known for preparing students to succeed at both the high school and college levels, and works closely with parents and students to create a more personalized learning experience.
Attractions in Lake Bluff include the Lake Bluff History Museum, which is dedicated to presenting the history of the area to current residents. This history is long and fascinating, dating back as it does to the very early part of the 19th century. Lake Bluff is also known for its unique and theatrical Independence Day parades. Of course, due to its close proximity to Chicago, Lake Bluff residents also have easy access to the huge range of museums, concert halls, art galleries, and other places of interest within the nearby large city.
While Lake Bluff's population has been consistently growing for the past several years, it still retains the small town charm and feel that makes it a favorite of those living in the Chicago area. Property values in the village have remained consistently high, largely due to the large part of the population consisting of professionals and businessmen working in Chicago itself. This also makes Lake Bluff a great place for networking among professionals, as well as ensuring that real estate values will remain high for the foreseeable future.
